NOTICE: The Edelman Application (major sub-division on Mountainview Terrace) has been carried over until December 2008. There is no additional information at this time. Thank you. Dunellen Planning Board
What is a Master Plan? Excellent question. Each municipality in New Jersey is required to develop an overall vision for its community. This vision is documented and contains details on land use, housing, and more. It can be a very detailed document, or limited to a core set of elements. To understand what those elements are, you should read the Citizen's Guide to New Jersey Master Plans. At least every six years the municipality must re-examine their Master Plan to see if it is being followed and what modifications, if any, need to be made. Periodically it is necessary for the Master Plan to be re-written in total. Dunellen is now at that point. A Master Plan should reflect the wishes of the citizens through direct input, to ensure the vision of the town is one shared through consensus. That is why the planning board is announcing a public meeting on re-writing the Master Plan, and we hope you can attend. |
